It's been nine weeks since strict lockdown measures were put in place!
PM Boris Johnson announced this evening [May 25] that all non essential shops could make plans to reopen from Monday 15th June, with outdoor markets and showrooms able to start trading again from as soon as Monday 1st June - as long as they are "COVID secure".
Businesses have been told to put safety awareness measures in place to ensure customer and staff safety such as:
Signs in the window giving awareness guidance
Frequent cleaning of all items that have or may have been touched
Returned items stored for at least 72 hours
Mr Johnson states that "People can shop safely if social distancing is followed"
These new measures mark the government's next steps in easing the lockdown in the UK.
